I very strongly but respectfully disagree. Moroccans need to be paying market prices for all goods, particularly gasoline. My only regret is that all subsidies cannot be eliminated overnight, as that would indeed cause issues - this gradual reduction of subsidies is the bravest thing that any politician has done in Morocco in over half a century. I congratulate PJD for their courage As all of you know, the current government subsidies do not benefit the poor. These government subsidies, as they are currently set up benefit primarily those who least need it. A rich man who owns an SUV consumes a lot more gasoline than a poor man who takes the bus. Why should the rich man who owns an SUV have their gasoline subsidized? Furthermore, why should Property taxes in Morocco be cheaper than automobile taxes? I hope that PJD comes to see that there is a windfall of taxable income available if they dramatically raise property taxes on the top 10% of Moroccan owners to start. Anyone who owns a villa worth 2,000,000 DH should be paying a minimum of 20,000 DH per year in Property taxes. How does it make sense that you pay more taxes on a $15,000 car with 15 Cylinders than a Villa worth over 4,000,000 DH? Real Estate should be taxed heavily, all government subsidies removed - and food stamps, free health care and other benefits provided only to the very poorest Moroccans. Incidentally, I am not much for Politics as I believe all Politicians eventually just become professional liars, but lets give credit where credit is due. Despite raising taxes, the PJD can still beat any other party, or all of the other parties combined in a fair election. I hope that the economic reforms continue, and that they are complimented with real Judicial reforms which see a complete overhaul of the current system that place entirely too much power in the hands of Judges. Furthermore, maybe we can see some real economic progress when people start feeling the protection of the law and are not afraid to invest their hard earned money in something other than a plot of land.

Difficillement en tout cas! @oummih if you are a jihadist, it's better for you to go to Syria, and after to paradise to meet with 1000 virgins girls. I really will be happy ...let the Moroccans quiet. I have never liked your speech and this forum don't need you, because you're a false Algerian polisarian Qatari, CIA flag. PJD is a conservative (la droite) party using religion as a goodwill "fond de commerce", and it'is normal when they fuck the poor and middle class, (pixon know that!). It's a politic game, and It's legal but no legitime because you can not use the ignorance of people to get the chair! The Moroccan citizens have to choose the right person globally and wake up. Better to stay silent and let people think you are a racist ignorant fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt. The hatred and venom in your words is very sad. If you had any real education, you would address the points I made. When people attack the individual, it just proves that they are not capable of attacking the argument. I would tell you to go learn to read and actually try to find out what real democracy means, but I am afraid my words would only be wasted on a blatant, likely alcoholic self hating racist such as yourself. Your outburst of foul language has exposed you as a fool to everyone on the forum.

Yuguerten, you know that drinking alcohol is bad for your health. I can only assume that you are an alcoholic who is venting because you caught your wife cheating on you again. My condolences. In any event, I forgive you for your cruel mean spirited words, because that is part of being a good Muslim. If you really value education, I suggest that you get educated. Being educated means that you can listen to other people's positions, disagree and be able to formulate arguments in a respectful, intelligent way that counter the other person's point of view. Using foul language and resorting to anti-Islamic rhetoric, particularly when you are living in a place that is majority Muslim is not only poorly thought out, but downright foolish. I accept your apology Yuguerten, and I wish you a happy life Inshallah brother. Racism comes from fear. Don't be a coward, be brave, and God Willing, God will show you kindness Inshallah.

@ Oummih: if the governement is reducing subsidies, it simply because IMF pulled their ears, not of sympathy for poor people... and I'm OK with Yguerten, they've been always using religion as cover to manipulate the crowd. otherwise, real muslims "real brave ones " wouldn't go low and use it as slogan to grab the support of the majority. ISLAM is not a tool to use to crawl with to get power
